A New Era: ID Football Merges with QSFC and QUT Football Club

ree

We are thrilled to announce a landmark moment in our club’s history. Queensland Students Football Club is excited to announce that idfootball is officially moving under our banner as QSFC Individual Player Development, in partnership with QUT Football Club.

This merger brings together the strengths of all three programs to give players, coaches and university students more opportunities than ever before.

Why we’re moving

Over the last few years, idfootball has built a reputation for high-quality, individualised technical training. At the same time, QUT FC has grown into one of the most successful student-led football clubs in Queensland, and QSFC has been created to support players beyond university competition.

By combining forces, we can offer:

  • Increased resources for footballers and coaches - More equipment, better facilities and shared knowledge across programs.

  • More coaches across different phases of development - From youth to senior football, players will have access to coaches who specialise in their stage and position.

  • More locations across Brisbane and QLD - Training will gradually expand beyond our core base, making high-quality sessions more accessible.

  • Opportunities for uni students to engage in technical football training - Students can now access individual development as players and gain experience as assistant coaches and analysts.

  • Pathways at home and abroad - We’ll maintain our existing French connections while pursuing additional overseas pathways for standout players.

What this means for players

If you have previously trained with idfootball, your experience will feel familiar: the same training standards, the same focus on detail and the same people on the pitch.

The difference is that your development will now sit within a broader ecosystem:

  • QSFC Individual Player Development for one-on-one and small-group training

  • QUT FC and QSFC teams for FQPL, Metro and university competitions

  • Opportunities to be seen by partner clubs and international contacts

Whether you are a current QUT student, an FQPL player or an ambitious academy footballer, there is now a clearer pathway to train, compete and progress.

What happens next?

In the coming weeks we’ll launch:

  • A dedicated QSFC Individual Player Development page on the QUT FC website

  • Updated social channels and booking information

  • Announcements about 2026 training blocks, clinics and holiday programs

If you’d like to be the first to hear about session times and locations, make sure you’re following @qut.fc and keep an eye on our website.

For any questions about the merger or how it affects you, please contact us at qut.football@gmail.com or speak to one of the coaching staff at training.

This is a big step for our club and for student football in Queensland. We’re excited to keep growing the game together and to help even more players trust the process and reach their next level.
